Be sure to mark your calendar because a whole weekend of fun will be here before you know it!
The St. Timothy Fall Festival is set to run Oct. 13 and 14 on our church campus, with several new unique events and old favorites sure to appeal to the whole family.
Bingo will set the festival in motion at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 in the Parish Hall. The following morning, the Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. with a one-mile route around the parish grounds. At 10 a.m., hopeful anglers can try their luck in the Fishing Derby in the pond in front of the church.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, the full Fall Festival will open with inflatables, entertainment, food, and games.
“We want to focus on fun family games,” says Judi Aldrovandi, Festival Chair. “We’re bringing back some ‘old-school’ games, such as egg toss — games that families can do together and have a good time.”
A silent auction and 50/50 raffle will help raise funds to cover the festival expenses, as there is no fee for admission.
“The festival is not a fundraiser,” Judi says. “After our expenses are covered, funds remaining are donated to a charity. Last year, the money was given to Tampa Hope, a homeless shelter.”
The only other costs at the festival will be the charge for a Bingo card, and whatever food is purchased at the food trucks on site.
“There will be a couple new food trucks at the festival this year,” Judi says. “Entertainment arrangements are being completed.”
The entire festival weekend is a unique opportunity to live in stewardship for St. Timothy Parish.
“This is a community event meant to be a fun time for St. Timothy,” Judi says. “We are open to the public, and it’s a time for us to get together. We want to invite families to spend time and have fun. We have things to do for all ages.”
Our Fall Festival has been such a success for the last 15 years — due in no small part to the work of many volunteers. This year is no different, as volunteers are needed in all areas of the festival.
Donations also are needed for the silent auction — call the parish office at 813-968-1077 to make arrangements. To volunteer, visit signupgenius.com/go/60B0D4FABA923A5F58-sttimothys or scan the QR code below
