Our Sacred Purpose
The sacred purpose of Holy Family Cathedral Parish, as the Mother Church of the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma, is to proclaim in word and deed the compassionate message of Jesus Christ and His Church that all may share His love.
The Vision that Ignites Us
Encountering Christ, Living the Faith, Serving those in Need
Vision Statement
As a parish family, we stand in gratitude for the gift of our Catholic faith and remain committed to stewarding these gifts handed onto us. Through our prayers, action, and commitment to the pursuit of a life of faith and virtue, we will work together to build a vibrant Catholic community that welcomes parishioners and embraces a culture where disciples are formed. We will deepen our commitment to share the person of Jesus Christ that we encounter in the Sacraments and in each other with the world.
2023-26 Priorities:
1. Cultivate a Culture of Catholic Friendship:
John 15:12-13 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
Definition:
The Cathedral should provide parishioners and others a sense of home – of belonging to a community that supports and challenges each other to achieve discipleship.
Desired Outcomes:
Parishioners are regularly and commonly engaged in intentional conversations that build and foster the culture of true Christian friendships.
Supporting the increased desire for friendship and community-building, parishioners are engaged in events that serve to unify and challenge each other to achieve discipleship.
2. Form Intentional Disciples:
Matthew 28:19 “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit.”
Definition:
Parishioners should be valued for their state in life, so they can actively develop their faith and seek opportunities to evangelize.
Desired Outcomes:
Parishioners actively acknowledge Christ’s calling for disciples by ongoing involvement in intentional discipleship programs.
Through increased confidence and knowledge of Christ’s teachings, parishioners openly share their faith with others in their community.
3. Develop Mission-Fit Campus:
Psalm 84:2-3 “How lovely your dwelling, O LORD of hosts! My soul yearns and pines for the courts of the LORD. My heart and flesh cry out for the living God.”
Definition:
The parish should facilitate belonging, encourage vocations, and create disciples through the effective offering and utilization of space.
Desired Outcomes:
Parishioners are able to enjoy a space and environment that nurtures individual and community growth in discipleship and friendship.
