Deacon Don McArdle

Deacon Don McArdle is one of the co-founders of Catholic Stewardship Consultants (CSC) and is the spiritual foundation behind our organization, serving as the Chairman of the Board. A native of Pittsburgh who grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Deacon Don has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1970. Ordained as a deacon in the Diocese of Savannah in 1979, he has devoted over four decades to ministry at St. Mary on the Hill—a hallmark stewardship parish in Augusta, Ga. For the past 25 years, Deacon Don has worked alongside parish and diocesan leaders nationwide to help build stewardship as a way of life. He is a renowned speaker at stewardship conferences, especially CSC’s biannual Msgr. McGread Stewardship Conference in Wichita, Kansas, where his talks on the spirituality of gratitude and generosity resonate deeply. He is the author of Grateful and Giving: How Msgr. In this book, Deacon Don highlights the transformative power of living stewardship daily, with a look at how his close friend and stewardship pioneer, the late Msgr. Thomas McGread, helped transform the Diocese of Wichita into a model of stewardship and discipleship. Married to his wife Pat for 52 years, they are blessed with nine children and a lively legacy of 45 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. With a sharp balance of pastoral wisdom, financial expertise, and a lifetime of family and faith, Deacon Don’s leadership continues to shape CSC’s mission and nurtures stewardship and discipleship at parishes around the United States.
