Have you ever wondered “Who am I?” or “What is my purpose in the world today?” Those existential questions are a part of the human condition, as we walk through this world that is not our final home. Sacred Scripture tells us that who we are and what we are here for is found in the One who made us — “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name: you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1).
For us to truly feel fulfilled and understand who we are and why we are here, we must come to know Him better. Growing closer to the Lord is vital for our lives as Christian disciples. It is in Him we will find all that we seek!
For this reason, Saint Michael Parish is excited to host a parish mission this coming January! The mission, which will be led by a team from Franciscan University of Steubenville, will draw us deeper into the reality of Who God is, offering us an opportunity to encounter Christ like never before!
“This mission has the potential to be a truly transformative experience,” says Chris Peterson, Parish Administrator. “It will be an opportunity to encounter Christ in a way that changes everything! It is our deepest desire to encounter Christ, whether we realize it or not, and this three-day event will bring Christ to us in a way that is truly amazing!”
Indeed, the Franciscan University team will present a parish mission that they have seen transform people and parishes throughout the years, and we are excited to welcome them here!
The Parish Mission will take place Jan. 21-23 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. each evening in the nave of our church. It will include praise and worship, a talk, and Eucharistic Adoration every evening. The Monday evening portion will also include the Sacrament of Reconciliation. There will be time for socialization as well.
“The goal of this mission is that everyone encounters Christ and grows in their relationship with Him,” Chris says. “We are praying that a new fire is lit in each one of our hearts for Christ and His mission.”
Do not miss out! The Parish Mission is sure to be a life-changing faith opportunity!
