That waffle iron that’s gathering dust because no one wants waffles anymore; the sport coat and slacks that are too big to look good; the pull toy languishing in the toy box — all of these things are perfect items for the Immaculate Conception Parish Rummage Sale, set for the weekend of Sept. 14-16 in our gymnasium.
Bringing in these items for the sale is a simple, yet fantastic way to engage in stewardship here at our parish — sale shoppers will have the chance to pick up needed materials for a great price, and all proceeds from the sale will go toward necessary projects around our church campus and school. Last year, the sale brought in $6,500, and this year is projected to bring even more. The Rummage Sale has been an annual event for more than 10 years.
Rummage Sale Chair Marietta Hrach and her team of volunteers will take those items and more off your hands during the drop-off days held during the weekends and weeks leading up to the sale.
Items can be dropped off from 4 to 5:45 p.m. on Saturdays, Aug. 26, Sept. 2, and Sept. 9, and on Sundays, from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Aug. 27, Sept. 3, and Sept. 10.
From Sept. 5 to 8 and Monday, Sept. 11, and Tuesday, Sept. 12, items can be dropped off between 10-4 p.m. There is no drop-off on Wednesday, Sept. 13.
All items should be brought to the gym at entry door No. 4.
Rummage Sale hours are 9-5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 and Friday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9-3 p.m.
Items needed for sale include things like men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing; small electrical items, such as toasters and blenders; shoes, games, books, puzzles, children’s toys, small television sets (no tube TVs), dishes glassware, pots and pans, knick-knacks, and lamps. Please no VHS tapes.
Small furniture items may be accepted, but please call Marietta Hrach first at 440-382-6980.
“Marietta and her team are working long hours preparing for the sale, tagging, and arranging items,” says Elayne Kramer, our parish Business Manager. “They are hard-working individuals who are dedicated to making sure the sale raises additional money for church projects. For example, one year, the proceeds went toward remodeling the kitchen.”
