Dear Parishioners,
Thank you! To the hundreds of you, adults and teenagers alike, who filled out your commitment cards for our Annual Stewardship Renewal, thank you! God has been, and continues to be, so good to us. A stewardship way of life is a RESPONSE to God’s goodness. We do that through time, talent, and treasure. Your commitments to this year’s renewal will guide your response.
In this month’s newsletter, we’re highlighting two wonderful ministries. If you’ve been to a Sunday Mass at our parish, you know that we have a lot of babies. When a baby is born, and we know about it, a dedicated group of parishioners visits the family and offers a meal and a few gifts. Led by Kathy Bidelspach, it’s a beautiful ministry for the new babies, moms, and dads in our parish.
We’re also highlighting the Saturday morning Rosary group. Meeting every Saturday at 8 a.m., this dedicated group of parishioners asks for Mary’s intercession for our parish and for their own needs. Many of them stay around for the 9 a.m. Mass. Just show up and bring a rosary or use your 10 fingers! The month of October is traditionally dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. The Saturday morning rosary group is a great way to pray.
As October gets going, I hope to see you at Mass every Sunday. Also don’t forget to take advantage of the hours and hours of Confession times we have available six days a week.
In Christ,
Very Rev. Brian O’Brien
Pastor, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church
