For readers of this blog, this is an invitation to attend the next Msgr. McGread Stewardship Conference that will be held February 16-17, 2011, in Wichita, Kansas. This invitation is being posted on the blog a week before it is promoted to the general public.
The Msgr. McGread Stewardship Conference has been conducted at the Diocese of Wichita’s Spiritual Life Center twice a year for the past seven years, and each one has received rave reviews from attendees. As a matter of fact, many attendees have commented that it was more like a spiritual retreat than a conference.
Past attendees have included bishops, diocesan stewardship directors, diocesan stewardship staff members, pastors, associates, deacons, newly ordained priests, parish staff members, pastoral council members, finance council members, stewardship committee members, and other parish lay leaders. Everyone who attends will certainly learn a lot about the spirituality of stewardship and about how many parishes around the country − including St. Francis of Assisi in Wichita − have successfully developed stewardship as a way of life. You’ll also have an opportunity to interact with Msgr. Thomas McGread − who is often referred to as the “Father of Catholic Stewardship” − and speak with him personally.
If you would like to attend, please sign up as soon as you can, because there are only 100 seats available.
