Strong Leadership
Strong lay leaders are vital for every parish. They provide the pastor with valuable insight and they also serve as examples for the rest of the parish. For these reasons, it is critical that lay leaders understand stewardship and practice it in their lives.
Spiritual Formation
Because practicing stewardship is essentially a faith response, we have found that a retreat setting works exceptionally well in cultivating strong parish leadership. The retreats we offer focus on making the connection between stewardship and Christian discipleship. Our aim is to foster personal conversion in a stewardship context.
Retreat Format
A typical retreat takes place on parish grounds, beginning Friday night and ending Saturday afternoon. It normally includes talks, small group discussion, and reflection time. It is led by clergy from our team, and is attended by the Pastoral Council, Finance Council, Stewardship Committee, and all leaders of parish ministries. In subsequent years, the invitation list can be expanded to include more parishioners.
Bilingual Retreats
If your parish has a large non-English speaking population, we can work with you to conduct a retreat with separate tracks in English and other languages. We can work with a bilingual clergyman from your parish, or with priests and deacons affiliated with our organization.
